Trying to add your corporate Google account to your phone's built-in, native mail app often leads to errors, sync failures, or security blocks from our Mobile Device Management (MDM) system.

To prevent configuration errors and ensure all security protocols are met, do not use the default Apple Mail or Samsung Email apps.
Open the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) on your phone.
Download the official Gmail and Google Calendar apps.
Open the Gmail app, select Add account, choose Google, and log in using your full corporate email address and password.
Our organisation uses Google Endpoint Management to protect corporate data. Depending on your department's security level, you may see a notification stating that your device requires a security profile.
If your login is blocked or requests a profile:
Go back to your device's app store and download the Google Device Policy app.
Open the app and sign in with your corporate credentials.
Follow the on-screen prompts to create a Work Profile (on Android) or install the Configuration Profile (on iOS).
When your phone asks you to "Allow" or "Trust" the profile, select Allow. This securely registers your device with IT without granting us access to your personal photos, texts, or apps.
If you've installed the apps but your messages aren't loading, check these settings before calling the Helpdesk:
Check Background App Refresh: Go to your phone’s main Settings, locate the Gmail app, and ensure Background App Refresh (iOS) or Background Data (Android) is toggled ON.
Verify Storage Space: If your smartphone is completely out of storage space, your mail sync engine will automatically pause to prevent data corruption.
Toggle Airplane Mode: Turn Airplane Mode on for 10 seconds and turn it back off. This forces your phone to establish a fresh connection with the local cellular tower or Wi-Fi network.
Admin & User Tip: Is Google Down? Before submitting a HelpDesk ticket for a sudden sync failure, check the official Google Workspace Status Dashboard. If you see an orange or red indicator next to Gmail or Calendar, Google is experiencing a global outage. Our IT team cannot speed up this fix, but Google is already working on it!
