Lost a Link? Find Your Volunteer Resources on the York Scouts Intranet

Running an engaging weekly programme for your section requires plenty of planning, risk assessments, and tracking. To ensure you aren't hunting through your email or browser bookmarks for essential documents, City of York District Scouts houses all adult volunteer tools, administrative forms, and activity resources under one digital roof.

The York Scouts Intranet is our central hub designed specifically to make team-based volunteering simpler, faster, and more streamlined.

How to Access the Intranet

You can log into the hub from any smartphone, tablet, or desktop computer using your registered volunteer credentials.

  1. Head directly to intranet.yorkscouts.org.uk.

  2. Bookmark this address on your web browser for quick access during section planning nights.

  3. Sign in using your assigned District user login.

What You’ll Find Inside: A Brief Overview

The portal is segmented into logical zones, making it easy to grab what you need in less than a minute.

1. Section Planning & Badge Resources

Whether you are running a Squirrel Drey, Beaver Colony, Cub Pack, Scout Troop, or Explorer Unit, the Resource Library contains thousands of face-to-face and virtual session ideas.

  • Search pre-made programme templates mapped directly to specific badge requirements.

  • Access tracking templates for Top Awards (including King's Scout Award resources).

2. Safety, Risk Assessments, and Forms

Safety is our number one priority. The intranet features a dedicated database for up-to-date compliance resources.

  • Download standard risk assessment templates for local hikes, campouts at Snowball Plantation, or adventurous activities.

  • Find medical forms, incident report documents, and the latest District safety policy updates.

3. Leader & Volunteer Training

Keep track of your training obligations and professional development within the movement.

  • Access links to mandatory safety and safeguarding refresher modules.

  • View the upcoming District calendar for face-to-face first aid courses, leadership validation sessions, and Sub-District team meetings.

The homepage features a "Quick Links" panel linking directly to the cloud platforms we use daily, including Compass/The Scout Association portal, District event sign-up sheets, and internal communication tools.

IdeaTip for Team Leaders: If you notice a broken link or have an amazing programme resource that worked wonders for your local group, submit it via the feedback link on the intranet homepage. Sharing resources across York North, East, and West helps our entire volunteer network save time and deliver better skills for life!
